Playing content stored on a media server (DLNA)

Digital Media Server (DMS)

Multimedia content from a computer or network-attached storage (NAS) can be played on the TV via the network. A DLNA-compatible digital media server must be running on the PC/NAS to share media content. For this feature to work, the server and the TV must be on the same network and the UPnP function must be enabled on the router.

TV Settings

To enable playback of content from the media server on the TV, press the MENU button, select NetworkApplications and turn on DLNA.

If you wish to use your phone as a remote controller to search, play and control DLNA media on your TV screen, you need to enable the DMR (Digital Media Renderer) function in addition to DLNA. To do this, press the MENU button, select Network - Applications and turn on DMR.

Play DLNA-shared content on your TV

If a media server is running on the network and DLNA is enabled on the TV, you’ll find shared media in the USB menu.

  1. Press the MENU button and select Inputs from the main menu.
  2. From the inputs list select USB and confirm with OK.
  3. You can navigate through the USB menu using the scroll ▲/▼/◄/► buttons. To confirm the item you wish to play/view press OK button.
  4. While viewing content you can control the playback modes using the remote control buttons or by bringing up the playback navigation menu and selecting on-screen buttons by ▲/▼/◄/► and OK.

Note

  • Depending on the file, playback may not be possible, even when using the supported formats.
